Digital Art

Raster Painting

This is perhaps the most common form of digital painting, mimicking traditional painting techniques using software like Adobe Photoshop, Procreate, and Clip Studio Paint. It works with pixels on a grid.

Vector art

Vector art uses mathematical equations to define shapes, lines, and curves. This makes it infinitely scalable without loss of quality. Adobe Illustrator and Inkscape are popular software choices.

Pixel Art

This is a style of digital art where images are created and edited at the pixel level. It often has a retro, 8-bit or 16-bit aesthetic reminiscent of early video games.

Generative Art

This type of digital art is created using algorithms and code. Artists define rules and parameters, and the computer generates the artwork based on those instructions.
